Umdloti

Umdloti - deriving its name from the Zulu term for a particular species of wild tobacco, is one of the best kept secrets of the Kwazulu Natal North Coast. Situated at the mouth of the Mdloti River, and surrounded by fields of sugar cane and indigenous forest, this quaint coastal village offers beautiful beaches with its very own rock enclosed tidal pool, and scenic coastal views including whale and dolphin watching in season. The warm Indian Ocean invites you to swim in our shark netted beaches and life guard protected waters. Unbeknown to many people, there are half a dozen quality golf courses within 20 minutes drive. We also have the exciting Sibaya Casino situated 5km's from the village, and a number of well known restaurants and pubs in the village. Additional activities close by are horse riding, microlight flips, off road quad biking adventures or, you can spend the day shopping at one of the largest shoppingcentres in Southern hemisphere with its very own wavehouse, imax, Barnyard theatre, rock climbing and lots of entertainment for all age groups.

The Ocean, a place that most people associate with holiday, fun, swimming and relaxation.  Nothing is more therapeutic than visiting the beach and feeling the sea sand squeak and grind against your bare feet, yielding a delicious exfoliating sensation!  Breathing in the salty moist air that temperamentally, and intermittently blows against your body making your face go rosy with all the oxygen intake.  What can beat the sticky, salty feeling that starts to engulf you as the heavy sea breeze carries its salt laden air your way?
